ASPE Central Texas brings home from Atlanta the 2017-2018 Board of Directors Chapter Award for Exceptional Leadership and unwavering engagement!
(Central Texas Chapter President Chris Phillips, Society President Mitch Clemente, and Phoenix Chapter President Matt Klem)
(From Chris): It has been my great honor to lead ASPE Central Texas as President for the past 5+ years and to build upon the solid foundation of my predecessors Terry Collins and Aaron Holbrook. A good decade in the making, for us to be awarded with ASPE's best chapter (along with our friends from the Phoenix Chapter), this is the highest honor our great chapter has ever received, and is truly gratifying. As with all other awards we've brought home in the past, this will serve to fuel us to keep pushing onward and upward for our membership!
Central Texas also once again captured the Chapter Award of Merit and Membership Retention awards.
Let's also not forget Francisco's honor: ASPE's Special Award of Achievement, "for his long-term dedication and commitment to enhance and grow the Society’s educational programs". Francisco has been a force within ASPE on both the local and National levels for over 20 years, and now qualifies for the much revered ASPE Fellowship. It is Central Texas' proud honor to be submitting him as an applicant to become an ASPE Fellow this coming year, and would the first in our chapter's history should he be selected.
To say the least, it was another banner year for ASPE Central Texas! Thank you to everyone in our membership for being so active and engaging. It continues to encourage your leadership to strive ever higher in our efforts to serve you better.
Toys for Tots is back! This year we're getting a jump on our collection efforts to support the Marine Corp Reserve's Toy for Tots Foundation. Please consider bringing an unwrapped toy or monetary donation to our upcoming meetings in October, November, and December, or even better: host a donation box at your office! Former Chapter President and USMC Vet Aaron Holbrook is once again leading the campaign this year, so let him know if you'd like a box delivered to your office (or Torvald Adolphson for the Austin area)!
Central Texas Continues Youth Outreach with our local Girl Scout Council's S.T.E.M. Weekend!
